When I first started at Pacific Science Center there was an open headcount on my team for an Executive Assistant. I decided to hold off, knowing how valuable open headcount can be at any organization. I thought I would determine what other needs are more pressing on my Development, Marketing, Comms and Membership teams. In fact, I even stated out loud “Executive Assistant? Bah. I don’t need that, I can manage my own calendar!” I always have. Oh, I’ve had partial EA support for years but that was mostly for external meetings, large gatherings, event planning. Guess what? As I enter my 3rd month, I realize I have a LOT of external meetings, large gatherings, events to organize etc. We need some help! However, EA duties are certainly not the whole gig here. We need someone who is great at that to help me and the team AND: Someone who can help with a whole lot of other things across the teams. Budgeting and invoicing. Backup social marketing and response. Learning about digital marketing. Helping Development organize events for our Igniters. I’m calling it an Advancement Operations Specialist. There is opportunity to learn, to grow, to work with a great team at an iconic institution. Come join the team! Ps- More roles to come!
