Belmont Light is once again honored to be recognized for excellence in reliability for 2023 by the American Public Power Association (APPA). This is a testament to the work that our Operations Team has done to maintain our system and their responsiveness when outages do occur. In 2023, the average Belmont Light customer experienced 36.56 minutes of power interruption, compared to 88.97 minutes for customers nationwide. Belmont Light customers experience about half the number of outages as nationwide customers (0.4 vs. 0.74) and when an outage did occur, Belmont Light line crews restored power over 20 minutes faster than the national average.

Belmont Light saw a big dip in feedback of solar energy production from residential rooftop solar systems from the start (2:16 pm) of yesterday's eclipse until the end (4:39 pm), with close to zero excess production at the peak (3:29 pm).
