Why did we invest in MOTH Drinks - B Corp™? 🍸 A few weeks ago, we were excited to announce that Beringea led a £4.6m funding round into MOTH, the UK’s leading ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail brand. Since launching in February 2021, co-founders 🍸 Rob Wallis and Samuel Hunt have turned MOTH into a household name, with one of its cocktails now sold every seven seconds. With this latest funding, MOTH is ready to shake up the cocktail scene in the US, just as it has in the UK. But before we talk about what’s next, let’s take a step back and reflect on the reasons we believe MOTH is a trailblazing company. Jodie Miller, Investment Manager at Beringea, who led the deal alongside Harry Thomas, Portfolio Director, has pulled together an article that dives into the key reasons behind our decision to back MOTH. Check it out below to learn more about why we believe MOTH is set to be a game-changer 👇 #vc #fundinground #consumer #RTD
Reflecting on our investment in MOTH Drinks - B Corp™... We recently led a £4.6 million investment into MOTH Drinks - B Corp™, the UK’s fastest-growing premium ready-to-drink cocktail brand. At Beringea, we’re looking for consumer brands that have the audacity to do things differently in their category. That’s why we’ve backed the likes of Lucky Saint | B Corp™, DASH Water, Papier, Farmer J, Monica Vinader Ltd – just to name a few! From our conversations with 🍸 Rob Wallis and Samuel Hunt at MOTH Drinks - B Corp™, it was clear they were shaking things up in the RTD space. Their focus on flavour and craftsmanship has struck a chord with consumers who value both quality and convenience. In fact, according to Nielsen, MOTH’s Margarita has been crowned the nation’s favourite! 👑 Following our investment, I've pulled together an article that dives into why we believe MOTH Drinks - B Corp™ is a category-defining brand with massive potential, including: 🍸 How MOTH is disrupting the alcoholic RTD market 🚀 Their incredible team and top-tier advisors 🌎 Ambitious plans for US expansion Check out the article below, let us know your thoughts, and don’t forget to grab a can next time you’re at the supermarket! #vc #funding #RTD #entrepreneurship #drinks #consumer

✨ Beringea Investment Team Highlight - Eden-Rae Wedderburn, Intern ✨ This summer, we had the pleasure of having Eden for an eight-week internship. Joining us through the 10,000 Black Interns programme, Eden worked closely with Jodie Miller and our UK investment team, diving deep into the venture capital world, and learning the ins and outs of deal sourcing and execution. At the end of her internship, we asked Eden to share her insights from her experience. Here’s what she had to say: 📚 What is one thing you learned from your internship? I've learned how diverse founders truly are - coming from all sorts of backgrounds, each with unique methods for pursuing their ventures. This diversity has made the idea of entrepreneurship feel much more attainable to me. I've also realised the value of maintaining strong relationships, as we often rely on our networks to support various pursuits. ✨ What interested you the most about the VC industry? The variety that each day brings really intrigued me. By exploring sectors that were initially outside of my comfort zone, I've discovered new areas of interest that I might have otherwise overlooked. I was also fascinated by the relationships formed within the industry. Whether it's between founders, CFAs, or the team here at Beringea, the people in this space are incredibly driven and sociable. It's an environment that encourages growth, connection, and innovation. A big thank you to Eden for her contributions and to the 10,000 Black Interns programme for making this opportunity possible. We wish you all the best with the rest of your studies, Eden!
