conjuring virtual companions for kids. not an evil wizard.

The Ursula y'all know and love is hiring a Product Designer! We are looking for someone with strong visual chops, preferably someone with interactive media experience (e.g., AR/VR, Games), to help us create artificial life. You heard that right — Product Design and Artificial Life in the same sentence! You'll work alongside a truly world-class team of 5 people to help us build our first product, a companion for kids, and all the tooling around it with full ownership around processes and real positive impact on kids' lives. Just like Pixar had to create RenderMan we are creating tooling for animating and debugging embodied AI agents. If you read this post and it feels weird, sorry - we are not b2b SaaS (yet?). If you read this post and it made you go 🚀🤯 😮 , please reach out!

Clem Delangue 🤗 Clem Delangue 🤗 is an Influencer

Co-founder & CEO at Hugging Face

Just crossed 8 years at HF. Based on my experience, these are the five most important factors of longevity for startup founders: #1 Amazing cofounders & team (for me: crazy smart, kind & driven - Julien Chaumond & Thomas Wolf) #2 Personal value alignement with your startup (for me: open & collaborative ) #3 Exciting topic (for me: AI) #4 Supportive investors (for me: financially bullish, hands-off & don’t add up to the pressure/struggle) #5 Balance between work & personal life not to burn out and grow in other dimensions of your life too In general, my biggest realization is that it’s really important to really focus on building the startup & teams you’re excited to lead instead of the one you think you have to build or that others are telling you to build. Cheers!

Next AI Camp at betaworks -- focus: native AI applications:

View profile for John Borthwick, graphic

    Entrepreneur and investor

Next Camp at betaworks: Native AI applications and native AI user experiences. The AI innovation that millions of people can use day in and day out lags behind the pace of new models and technology. It's time to focus on building the application layer. Let's find out what lies beyond chat interfaces and improved search? What are the step function innovations that AI can unlock at the application layer for millions of u̟͎̲͕̼̳͉̲ͮͫͭ̋ͭ͛ͣ̈sers? We believe that native AI applications should live closer to the user. They should anticipate context and unstructured data across modalities. We think Native AI applications will have new interfaces -- some will have malleable interfaces, or fluid ones. Native applications will try again on failure, and generate plans when needed. Details on Camp + attributes in post and application link -- we aren't living in the future yet let's build it. https://lnkd.in/g6zjJTDY

Granola has transformed the way we work at Betaworks, now it can be your superpower too!

View profile for Christopher Pedregal, graphic

CEO at Granola. Previously founded Socratic (acquired by Google). Product builder and optimist.

🚀 After a year in the oven, today is finally launch day for Granola! 🚀 Download it at https://granola.so Talk of AI is everywhere these days, but so few tools have broken through to being actually useful for our daily work. Our goal with Granola was to build a tool that is so good you'll want to use it in every one of your meetings. Granola is the AI notepad designed to help you reclaim time after your meetings. It puts you in charge of dictating what's important during the meeting, and follows your lead to create beautiful context-aware notes. Too many meeting bots want to take control away from you, and have AI do all the thinking for you. We think this is fundamentally wrong, and instead Granola puts you and your writing at the center of the experience. We've been through dozens of iterations, and still have a long way to go, but I'm truly proud of the team we've built and the product we're launching today. Would love to hear your feedback!
