New research from the Better Evidence program at Ariadne Labs has identified 444 medical schools in Africa, up from the previous estimate of 169. Continued tracking of medical schools in Africa is crucial to growing and retaining a health workforce that meets the health care needs of the population it serves. In the three-week course, students follow an interdisciplinary curriculum in global health, epidemiology, and business management that is grounded in the work health care organizations do every day.
