We are deeply saddended by the the passing of Professor Akhtar Hussain, president of the the International Diabetes Federation. Professor Akhtar was a champion for diabetes research, his contributions were invaluable. He'll be deeply missed. Our condolences to his family, friends & the entire diabetes community.

EXCITING NEWS! 🎉 On June 27th, we traveled to Chicago to host our first Innovation Grants Event: Instigators of Change ✅ The event was a resounding success, with an impressive group of representatives from federally qualified health centers, nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, faith organizations and our partners. We had the honor of presenting our exceptional grant recipients and hosting an engaging live panel discussion. The event also marked the launch of the Beyond Barriers program. As part of this initiative, Beyond Type 1 will provide $100K in grants to local organizations in Miami, Detroit, and Chicago. These grants aim to support organizations driving meaningful solutions for the diabetes community and prioritizing care for underserved populations. Another great weekend at the American Diabetes Association's 84th Scientific Sessions learning about the latest updates and industry news in the diabetes space! ☀️ We learned so much! A few things to note: 👉 Positive results from a Vertex clinical trial of a stem cell therapy called VX-880. The therapy is designed to restore the body’s ability to regulate blood sugar by implanting insulin-producing islet cells. 👉 Hyperglycemia Crisis (Consensus Report) A group of diabetes organizations updated a guide for doctors on how to diagnose and treat diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and hyperglycemic hyperosmolar state (HHS). 👉 Tandem unveiled findings from a recent user satisfaction survey on the Tandem Mobi system. The data demonstrated high user satisfaction, with 86% of participants reporting positive experiences with the Mobi regardless of their prior insulin therapy. #diabetesawareness #clinicaltrial #t1d #t2d
