INVITE TO OUR FEBRUARY BIMinAM MONTHLY FORUM The BIM in Asset Management January Monthly Forum (22-01-2025) addressed inefficiencies in asset management and explored how BIM and digital tools can improve operational performance and compliance. Key challenges highlighted included poor integration between design and operational phases, lack of proper asset handover and maintenance records, and weak enforcement of regulations like the Building Safety Act. Opportunities for improvement focused on implementing data-driven strategies to quantify the financial and operational impact of asset failures, leveraging tools like 360 imagery, BIM, and IoT for accurate asset tracking and maintenance, and enhancing the "golden thread" to better integrate design, construction, and operational data. Case studies demonstrated significant financial losses from poor asset management and showcased the benefits of visual tools like 360 imagery for simplifying maintenance, tracking variations, and documenting repairs. The forum emphasized developing standardized frameworks, fostering collaboration, and driving cultural change through workshops and working groups on digital handovers, technical submissions, and asset impact assessments, aiming to implement best practices and improve outcomes across the industry.
