Our President and CEO Margaret Spellings was asked what we can do to address polarization partisanship. Here’s what she had to say. “I think we have to be a lot better consumers of what we see and hear and call on our elected officials and ask them about... we need to up the accountability and ask the right questions.” 🎙️Listen to BPC President and CEO Margaret Spellings’ conversation with former Tennessee governors Philip Bredesen and Bill Haslam and former Sec. of Transportation Anthony Foxx about navigating division and disagreement on this week's You Might Be Right podcast from the Howard H. Baker Jr. School of Public Policy and Public Affairs: https://lnkd.in/evVTy2Aq

🗳 More states are adopting election policies to boost voter accessibility and election security. BPC identified 12 key policy reforms for effective election administration across three categories: #voter registration, casting a ballot, and counting the vote. #NorthDakota, #Michigan, #NorthCarolina, and #Maine saw the largest increases in reforms implemented since 2022. https://bit.ly/3ZFEHct Notably, states are adopting policies that improve the accuracy, accessibility, and efficiency of casting a #ballot, including early in-person voting, no-excuse absentee voting, ballot tracking, and the opportunity to fix, or "cure," mail ballot errors. Despite these positive trends, election administration remains severely underfunded across the country. Our proposal? Meeting these minimum standards should qualify states to receive federal funding to support #election administration. #ElectionSecurity #Election2024 #ElectionAdministration
