The Influencer League was ahead of its time - and I didn’t fully realize it until recently.
In 2018, I began writing a textbook for influencers & creators. It was designed to be a resource to help influencers build their own brands and navigate their careers, filling the gap that didn’t exist when I graduated from college in 2016.
This wasn’t just theory; it was created entirely from my own experience after 4 years of working in social media & PR, and over a year of educating creators.
I launched the textbook in late 2019 and by the end of 2020, I had sold over 300 PHYSICAL copies globally, generating over $50K in sales.
The energy surrounding my textbook was electric. Creators would tag me in stories, showing themselves reading, taking notes, and applying the lessons in real time. They brought it with them to school, on their travels, and made it their go-to guide for building their brands, mastering multi-platform growth, securing brand deals, and unlocking new avenues for monetization. It became a true resource for those ready to elevate their careers in the creator economy.
In 2021, while pregnant with my second child, I decided to pause textbook sales while I spent more time working on both the creator management & agency sides.
Knowing I accomplished this as a 20-something mom - author, publisher, and shipper of a textbook I created entirely on my own - still feels surreal.
Now, with the creator economy being formally integrated into college curriculum (as recently highlighted by The Hollywood Reporter), I’m eager to relaunch my textbook for creators in 2025 with even more insights & experience.
If you know of a publisher who would like to support this relaunch, I’d love to connect.
Cheers to building in public 🙂↕️🥂
