Blackstar is proud to be working with the incredible team over at MilkyWayEconomy.
Since 2019, MWE has inadvertently been running the beta version of Ender's Game Battle School at Columbia University. What follows is a brief essay expounding on that and where, with a little focused strategy, this program for the future leaders of The Space Economy could go and should go. Happy Birthday Florida Tech!
Happy Birthday Florida Tech! Yesterday, we celebrated the 66th anniversary of the Florida Institute of Technology. Located in the vibrant and innovative Florida's Space Coast region, Florida Tech's students have been watching rocket launches from campus since the dawn of the Space Race. Nicknamed “Missileman U” and “Countdown College,” Florida Tech boasts deep historical connections with the U.S. space program. Established in 1958 as Brevard Engineering College, the same year NASA was founded, Florida Tech provided advanced education for professionals at NASA's Kennedy Space Center and Delta 45 at Cape Canaveral Station. It was officially renamed the Florida Institute of Technology in 1966. Today, Florida Tech is globally recognized for its excellence in cutting-edge research in areas such as aerospace, advanced manufacturing, aviation, autism treatment, biomedical science, cybersecurity and machine learning, and marine science. The university offers over 200 associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs across various fields, including engineering, science, computing, aeronautics, business, psychology, and the liberal arts. The main campus spans 130 acres in Melbourne, Florida, with additional locations in Titusville and Orlando. The university also operates off-campus facilities, such as the NASA's Kennedy Space Center, the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Innovative Design (CAMID) in Palm Bay, the Mertens Marine Center in Melbourne Harbor, the Florida Tech Aviation School at Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB), and the Orlando Education Center. With over 70,000 graduates from more than 120 countries, Florida Tech has a distinguished alumni network that includes five NASA space shuttle astronauts. Continuing this legacy, Florida Tech is one of only 46 universities selected as a cooperating educational institution by the prestigious Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. Here's to Florida Tech and its unwavering commitment to shaping a brighter future for Florida, the Space Coast, and beyond, all while upholding its motto: Ad Astra Per Scientiam 🚀🌌 (To the Stars Through Science) 🌴🚀🌊 #SpaceCoast #Florida #TomorrowLaunchesHere #FloridaTech #FIT #GoPanthers #Talent #TalentPipeline #Space #NASA #NASAKSC #KennedySpaceCenter #CapeCanaveral #AdAstra
