About us
National Institute of Building Sciences brings together labor and consumer interests, government representatives, regulatory agencies, and members of the building industry to identify and resolve problems that hamper the construction of safe, affordable housing and commercial structures throughout the country. NIBS is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization. It was established by Congress in 1974. Its public interest mission is to serve the nation by supporting advances in building science and technology to improve the built environment.
