We were honored to join hands with the Fayetteville Woodpeckers as a community leader for the 3rd Annual Back to School Bash.  Serving the communities where we build, live, and work is of utmost importance to BRP. We are committed to empowering students in Cumberland and surrounding counties as they begin a new school year filled with learning and boundless opportunities!

Bunker and his friends weren’t the only ones that had a great time on Friday as we held our 3rd Annual Back to School Bash! With the generous donations from various sponsors, we were able to stuff almost 1,500 bags this year for K-12 school aged students. Alongside the school supplies, free books and clothing were also given away, and free haircuts were supplied on site by the Barber Coalition of Fayetteville as DJ Moladic kept the music flowing while everyone anxiously awaited to get inside.    Though we encountered a little rain throughout the day, we were able to give out hundreds of backpacks, with the remaining supplies given away to various other school supply bashes in the area, including Giving Back Warm Hugs in Fayetteville and the Alpha Alpha Gamma Sigma Alumni Chapter in Spring Lake.    We couldn’t hold a giveback event like this without the assistance of our community partners, community leaders, and other local organizations. Thank you to everyone who donated in time, effort, and supplies to make this impact felt throughout Cumberland, Harnett, Moore, and Hoke counties. We reached a lot of families this weekend, and it wouldn’t be possible without you!

Employee safety is a top priority for Blue Ridge Power, and we are taking steps to ensure that our employees are prepared to handle any emergency. We identified the need for First Aid, CPR, and AED training. The Learning & Development team organized training sessions at various locations including both our offices and sites. As a result of these efforts, we are proud to announce that we now have 27 more Red Cross Certified employees. #SavingLives
