Join Blue Sky Maritime Coalition for their upcoming Speaker Seminar, "Port Decarbonization: From Shoreside to Shipside," on November 6th, 2024 at 2:00 pm EST. This seminar will feature discussions aimed at reducing port and maritime greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The panel will include leaders from the US port ecosystem discussing the depth and breadth of opportunities (and challenges) as it relates to decarbonization and incentives for adoption of emission reducing technologies. While many efforts to date have been focused on electrifying core operations like shore power, cargo handling, and drayage; how can we move the needle on vessel operations? Specifically, what role can ports play in support of harbor craft such as tug and tow operations? How can ports encourage green corridors to ensure inclusion of green tugboats? Moderator: Jennifer States, Director of Ports, Momentum (BuildMomentum.io) Speakers: Andy Morgans, Sustainability Program Manager, Port Houston Renee Moilanen, Director of Environmental Planning, Port of Long Beach Beth Rooney, Port Director, The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey Register here: https://lnkd.in/gcZDCJgn

Hydrogen is a compelling alternative to many fossil fuel technologies because of its ability to solve pressing decarbonization challenges. But maximizing its meaningful climate benefits hinges on understanding and mitigating #hydrogen's associated emissions. Join Blue Sky Maritime Coalition on July 29th for "Maximizing Hydrogen's Climate Benefits with Robust Climate Accounting," with Dr. Irving D. Rettig, Hydrogen Scientist at Environmental Defense Fund. The research that will be showcased in this webinar highlights efforts by the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) to improve current assessment #frameworks to better evaluate the climate impacts of #hydrogen technologies throughout the value chain. This scientific insight parallels EDF’s greater mission to support industry in getting hydrogen right by keeping hydrogen and methane #emissions to a minimum, producing #GreenHydrogen using additional #renewable electricity, and deploying high efficiency and permanence for #CarbonCapture.
