Last week, our latest YH2O cohort had a great time shopping for interview attire! 💼⭐️ Through our program, we educate young adults on the water and solid waste industries and offer career opportunities with Baltimore City Department of Public Works upon completion. As part of their job readiness training, they took a fun trip to K&G Fashion to pick out suits, preparing them for future success!

Welcome to our team, Carlos! 🤩
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve taken on a new role as Program Supervisor for the Blueprint Career Coach Initiative, working in conjunction with the Baltimore City Mayor's Office of Employment Development! This initiative is a pivotal part of Maryland's Blueprint for the Future, aiming to empower our students with the skills and support they need to succeed in their careers. I’m passionate about creating pathways to success and am eager to collaborate with educators, community leaders, and, most importantly, our students. I look forward to this journey and the impact we can make together in our community! #BlueprintForTheFuture #CareerCoaching #Baltimore #Education #CommunityDevelopment #NewBeginnings

We are proud to celebrate the one year anniversary of our virtual call center partnership with JPMorganChase. This innovative model has expanded access to customer service career opportunities in communities with limited access to traditional call center facilities. Our Director, MacKenzie Garvin added, “As we celebrate the one year milestone of the Baltimore virtual call center, I am more confident than ever of the value this model brings to Baltimore City and look forward to growing and deepening our public-private partnership with JPMorganChase.”

Our Recovery Works team at MOED, led by Jessica Cardott and Craig B. Lewis, had the opportunity to meet with Special Secretary Keller to share MOED’s new suite of employment programs for people in recovery from substance use disorder. Programs include a peer recovery program, a supported employment program, job development, and advocacy for a Recovery-Friendly Workplace. We’re excited to expand our efforts and serve even more residents in recovery in 2025.

A big thank you to the YH20 alumni now working at the Baltimore City Department of Public Works Meter Shop Department for speaking with our 2024 Fall cohort! 🙏🏽✨ Hearing firsthand what it takes to succeed and seeing graduates thriving in the field was truly inspiring. We wish our alumni continued success in their DPW careers and can’t wait to see what this year’s class accomplishes! 🤩
