WARWICK, R.I. — Standing beside Gate 12, Marcella Almeida knew exactly where she wanted to go: Disney World. But at Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport one afternoon this week, Almeida and her family were not hopping a flight to Florida. In fact, the aircraft she was about to board with her husband and three children was not scheduled to fly anywhere. Even the ticket in their hands said their destination was, well, exactly where they were already. But Tuesday still felt like the start of a journey. At the airport’s first “Autism Flies” event, hosted by Breeze Airways and Connecticut-based Autism Double-Checked, families with neurodiverse children and young adults were able to gain insights into air travel — but without the stress and trauma of embarking on an actual flight. One of my latest for the Globe: #airtravel #neurodiverse #neurodiversity #autism #travelingwithkids #travel #rhodeisland #airtravel #breezeairways #tfgreen #airports https://lnkd.in/ePi6NXfb

The realities of climate change are starting to shift our perspective on what makes a property appealing. With Zillow adding climate risk scores to its for-sale listings, some oceanfront and riverside dwellings aren't looking quite as attractive as they used to. I talked to real estate agents, sellers, climate experts and more about how Zillow's climate scores might change the real estate game here in MA. (Not everyone is psyched about it ...) https://lnkd.in/etN3KhqF

Vice presidential candidate JD Vance is wrong when he says illegal immigration is a big reason for sky-high housing prices, writes Boston Globe financial columnist Larry Edelman. In our latest edition of Trendlines, Edelman explains. “Vance’s distortions during the debate may be good politics but it’s bad economics.”
