This summer, SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL OF VISTA AND NORTH COUNTY INLAND took our 5th grade and Teen girls through their Dream It Be It Program. They touched on topics like turning failure into success, how to handle stress in your life and thinking about what they want their future to look like. They made vision boards, played games and tackled talking in front of a group of their peers. A huge thank you to Assly and Sherry for leading the program at our site!!

While Jimmy John's is new to North County San Diego, they're not new to showing up for a good cause! For our final two days of summer camps, Jimmy John's Carlsbad provided tasty and nutritious meal for 50 of our Club kids on both days.

Our July Staff of the Month is 🥁 🥁 *drumroll please* 🥁 🥁 MR.MIKE! Mike goes beyond the call of duty. He's always the first to ask other staff what they need help with, brings new and exciting ideas to the table, gives all Club kids the attention and respect they deserve, and brings an infectious energy to the Club! This past Saturday, Boys & Girls Club of Vista held their 2nd Annual Back to School Community Resource Fair at the main site on W. California Ave. This year, with the support of community we served 3x’s the number of school age youth than the year before. The Boys & Girls Club of Vista held a back-to-school shop event with 10 Club kids at Kohl’s Oceanside on August 7th. The shopping event is made possible through a $2,000 grant from Kohl’s. Kohl’s grant to the Boys & Girls Club of Vista is part of the Kohl’s Cares Shopping Grant program, which provides grants to Boys & Girls Clubs of America locations across the country to help club youth get ready for the school year. The program is an extension of Kohl’s national partnership with BGCA, which includes a $10 million commitment over three years to support the delivery of trauma-informed training to staff nationwide. #Kohls #KohlsCares
