About us

Our mission is to empower every Club member, through safe and impactful experiences to: graduate high school with a plan for college or a career, contribute to their community, and live a healthy life. We serve over 2,000 kids a year at 5 sites in Vista & Oceanside. At the Boys & Girls Club of Vista, our vision is to ensure that success is within reach of every young person ages 6-18 that comes through our doors. Each and every time the kids come through the doors of our Boys & Girls Club, we provide them with a fun, safe, and positive environment, supportive relationships with caring adult staff, opportunities to succeed, high expectations to meet, and recognition for their efforts and successes. When they walk through our doors, they are provided with a powerful Club experience and life-enhancing programs in our 5 core program areas: The Arts; Health and Life Skills; Sports, Fitness, and Recreation; Education and Career Development; and Character and Leadership Development. Our young people make up about 20% of our population, but they are 100% of our future. When we fail them, we fail our community and ourselves. It’s time to give our children and community a brighter future. https://linktr.ee/bgcvista

Updates

  • Club kids continue to have a blast participating in Bella Mente's Painting Club, Slime Club, and Power Hour. Because they've been so on it with attending Power Hour and completing their homework and other academic activities, they got to enjoy an end of the month Pizza Party for earning the most points.

  • Here's a first look at our newest AM/PM program at Bella Mente! Club kids spend their afternoons in Clubs where they can work with others to practice their building skills with blocks and magnets, play together on the playground, and let their creativity run wild with Jewelry Making Club and Clay Art. For more information about our Bella Mente AM/PM Program, please contact membership@bgcvista.com.

  • OCTOBER BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS with our friends at Mariners Church!! Treats, tunes, wiggles and giggles, what a blast our Club Kids had celebrating!! A huge thank you to Pastor Chris, Valerie, Terrie, Kathy, Sabrina, Jenna, Halyn, and Luisa for making them feel extra special.

  • Did you know nearly 52 percent of Club kids identify as Hispanic or Latino? During Hispanic & Latino Heritage Month, we’re exploring these vibrant cultures – their unique histories, contributions, stories, music and cuisine. Because when kids learn about other people’s cultures, they grow their curiosity, perspective and respect for others. At BGCV, our club kids have been learning about and engaging in activities that shed light on the Hispanic culture. Ms. Seskia, program specialist shared some of her families' traditions of celebrated in Mexico. She shared pieces of her life from paletas and pinatas to her childhood games and the rich music & dance that is rooted in the country. Our Club kids got to try paletas, where they discovered new likings for flavors such as coconut, lime, and mango. They were able to take turns hitting the pinata and were able to participate in learning dances from Ms. Seskia and one of our volunteers Emanuel. “Music gives people energy and awakens a passion within you, it just makes you want to move” - Ms. Seskia ¡Ven a celebrar con nosotros! Come celebrate with us! #hispanicheritagemonth
