We had the opportunity to speak alongside U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar last week about why the Harris/Walz campaign is the ONLY CHOICE to move our country’s economy forward paving the way for all Americans to achieve their version of the American Dream. Thank you to the Arizona Democratic Party for the opportunity to join you in making history by endorsing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz as the next President and Vice President of the United States. It was an incredible honor to speak alongside Senator Amy Klobuchar today as part of the Arizona Business Leaders for Harris coalition. At Brick Road Coffee, I’ve seen firsthand how small businesses are the heart of our communities, creating spaces where people connect, thrive, and grow together. Vice President Harris has a vision that supports entrepreneurs and small businesses with real solutions—like her New Way Forward proposal that expands tax relief, reduces red tape, and empowers small business owners to succeed. But this isn’t just about supporting businesses. It’s about building stronger, more inclusive communities, ensuring that everyone has a chance to live out their American Dream. The stakes couldn’t be higher in this election. A second Trump term would be devastating for small businesses, threatening our economic stability and growth. His Project 2025 agenda is a blueprint for chaos—one that would destroy jobs and destabilize the foundations of our economy. That’s why it’s urgent for Arizona business leaders to join the Harris coalition and stand up for a future where hard work and innovation are rewarded, and every Arizonan has the freedom and opportunity to succeed. Together, we can help elect Vice President Harris and Governor Walz to the White House and ensure that small businesses remain the backbone of our economy. #ArizonaForHarris #SmallBusinessLeaders #HarrisWalz2024 #InclusiveEconomy

In July, I had the honor of being invited to the SW Regional Business Briefing at the White House. We received updates from SBA Administrator Isabel Guzman, White House Senior Advisor to the President for Clean Energy Innovation and Implementation John Podesta, Deputy Secretary of the US Department of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo. Followed by a panel of SBA Leadership: - David Brown, Director of Policy and Planning, SBA - Aditi Dussault, Associate Director, Office of Entrepreneurial Development, SBA - Jaqueline Robinson-Burnett, Associate Administrator, Office of Government Contracting and Business Development, SBA - Francisco Sanchez Jr, Associate Administrator, Office of Disaster Recovery & Resilience, SBA - Sarah Koulogeorge, Senior Advisor, Office of Capital Access, SBA They each provided updates in their areas of specialties and then took questions and updates from the participants. I was encouraged to hear about the work that is happening to bring more safe and dedicated resources to our diverse businesses. I was especially pleased to see the diversity and representation from the LGBTQ+ community in the SBA leadership under @sbaguzman and the Biden/Harris Administration. I left the meeting feeling confident that the unique challenges the LGBTQ+ community faces are being addressed. It will take time to implement some of the structural changes needed, but it was clear this was a priority for all of them. I want to give a special thank you to GPECC - Greater Phoenix Equality Chamber of Commerce, National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) Small Business Majority & Public Private Strategies It is organizations like these that help ensure diverse businesses like ours are certified and in the room for these important conversations. Bonus of the trip was meeting Admiral Rachel L. Levine, the first openly trans Admiral and the 17th Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). 🏳️⚧️ #representationmatters #lgbtqsmallbusiness #diversity #equity #inclusion #sba Brick Road Coffee

We are committed to cultivating an inclusive, progressive culture prioritizing mental health and providing a fair living wage. That is why we provide our staff a fair wage with annual increases to combat the ever-rising cost of living in Arizona. “We are committed to ensuring the viability of our business and continuing to work toward providing a living wage to our employees. We believe our business’s success is directly tied to the quality of life we provide for our employees. Therefore, the last thing on their minds when they are here should be how they will afford to live.
