About us

Bridges to Prosperity envisions a world where poverty caused by rural isolation no longer exists. Rural isolation is a root cause of poverty, and we believe that connection is the foundation to opportunity. We work with local communities, partners, governments, private sector, and institutions to build trail bridges that connect residents to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity. With a sophisticated data collection and evaluation program, we can prove that the value and impact of our work is sustained long after the opening celebration.

When isolated populations gain access to healthcare, education, and employment, they thrive. This not only enhances their quality of life but unlocks their potential. To enhance our partnership with Bridges to Prosperity, we will serve as the Global Cable Provider, supplying essential materials for bridge construction in rural communities worldwide. Since our partnership began, we have connected over 55,000 people, and this new agreement will help us reach even more communities in need. Sustainable development, much like seamless global trade, lies at the core of our ethos and drives everything we do. #MadePossible

We recently participated in the AfDB Transport Forum in Abidjan, alongside government officials from across the continent, representatives from AfDB, DFIs, the African Union, and the private sector. Erica Brandt, who represented B2P, co-presented with George Makajuma from AfDB, highlighting our partnership in Uganda as well as the cost-effectiveness and impact of investing in networked connectivity for rural populations. B2P was also mentioned in a parallel session on innovative financing mechanisms for transport projects. This conference presented an excellent opportunity to connect with leaders in the transport sector, with many exciting follow-ups ahead. B2P appreciates AfDB leadership for our inclusion in the Forum.

Had a great experience presenting at the African Development Bank Group Transport Forum in Abidjan last week alongside my colleague George Makajuma from AfDB. Our presentation focused on how impactful, cost-effective, and sustainable it can be to invest in rural transport networks. We showcased innovations in the sector, as well as the successful partnership between Bridges to Prosperity and AfDB in Uganda which implemented low-cost, high-impact interventions to enhance connectivity in the areas surrounding a regional corridor road project. Thanks to the African Development Bank Group for shedding light on this crucial topic! #atf2024

Due to poor infrastructure, over 1 billion people in rural communities lack access to markets, healthcare, and education. At UNGA and Climate Week, Alissa Davis and Eniola Mafe-Abaga will meet with partners and leaders to advance the conversation on how climate-resilient infrastructure drives sustainable development and supports global equity. We're proud to announce the successful completion of another bridge in Rebero, Rwanda! Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our incredible volunteers and the invaluable support of our partners (Balfour Beatty plc UK - Mott MacDonald UK), a new 58-meter connection now links Rebero to many essential resources and services. This marks a significant milestone, not just for us but for the entire community. "I cannot describe the feeling of walking on it for the first time holding hands with the local kids. Their smiles and happiness meant the world to me and the team!" Giulio Riccardi - Mott MacDonald Team member

Greetings from the thousand hills of Rwanda! Last month's staff retreat in Rubavu was remarkable, bringing our team together for strategic planning and professional development. From team-building exercises to deep dives into our code of conduct, safety protocols, and B2P strategy, the retreat was a decisive moment of reflection and growth. A special shoutout to our CEO, Nivi, for the insightful overview of our organization’s perspectives, which added a valuable layer to our discussions. We feel reenergized and aligned as we continue building a more connected world.
