She’ll showcase our work identifying Africa’s unmapped rivers across Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zambia. With the help of Fika Map—a dynamic machine-learning tool developed with the Better Planet Laboratory at the University of Colorado Boulder—we can predict unmapped waterways and pinpoint infrastructure needs to connect communities to essential services. We’ve successfully completed our first Training of Trainers (ToTs) program, empowering RP academic staff from the Department of Civil Engineering (Construction and Highway Technology) with the skills to design trail bridges. This initiative will create a knowledge-sharing center, enabling training for public and private sector organizations. Rwunguko Jean d'Amour represented Bridges to Prosperity during the SDG13 - Climate Action plenary, following a keynote by Hon. Dr. Valentine Uwamariya, Rwanda's Minister of Environment. He highlighted B2P’s role as the official charity partner, showcasing our data-driven, climate-focused work with Fika Map.
