Are Female Interviewers delivering a better candidate experience? 🚺 Our data suggests the answer is YES. 💁♀️ We crunched the numbers on 175K+ interviews across 125 organizations to investigate. To measure candidate experience, we looked at the actual behaviors in the interview and created a composite score based on how consistently interviews start on time, set an agenda for the candidate, and give them opportunities to ask questions. TL;DR: Female interviewers consistently deliver a better candidate experience. 🏆 Here’s what we found: 1️⃣ RECRUITER SCREENS: Compared to their male counterparts, female recruiters are more likely to: 👉 Set a clear agenda: +10% (F: 69% vs. M: 63%) 👉 Give candidates the opportunity to ask questions: +5% (F: 79% vs. M: 75%) 👉 Start just a bit later: -1% (F: 89% vs. M: 90%) 2️⃣ HIRING MANAGER SCREENS: The gap narrows, but it's still there! Compared to male hiring managers, female hiring managers are more likely to: 👉 Set a clear agenda: +5% (F: 61% vs. M: 58%) 👉 Give candidates the opportunity to ask questions: No difference (F: 83% vs. M: 83%) 👉 Start on time: +1% (F: 95% vs. M: 94%) 💡 In summary, female interviewers are more likely to deliver better candidate experiences than male interviewers. So what’s driving this? 🧐 ❓ Could communication styles, training, or interview approaches be causing this disparity? ❓ Most importantly, how can we ensure every candidate has a great experience, no matter who’s interviewing? ❓ Should we consider training adjustments by gender? ❓ How can we make 'best practices' standard across interviews? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below! 👇
