About us
The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office (also known as the Kings County District Attorney’s Office) serves more than 2.5 million people in the Borough of Brooklyn (Kings County), and is one of the largest prosecutors’ offices in the country. Under the leadership of District Attorney, Eric Gonzalez, continuing and building on the legacy of the late DA Ken Thompson, the office is an incubator of innovative prosecutorial approaches — making this an especially exciting time to join the office. The sheer size and diversity of Brooklyn provides a professional experience that is unique among district attorneys’ offices around the country. You will be exposed to a full range of cases, including some of the most complex and cutting edge, and you will learn from some of the most respected and renowned attorneys in the public sector. You will be given as much responsibility as you can handle. Our goal is to hire the best and most committed public servants. Our ADAs come from a wide range of backgrounds and we are committed to hiring and retaining lawyers who represent and add to this vibrant diversity. The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Thank you to our incredible hosts in Norway and ROSA Stop Human Trafficking for the opportunity to share how the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office fights human trafficking alongside our law enforcement and outreach partners. Meaningful exchanges with international leaders and teams strengthen our efforts in New York and beyond.
Chief | Human Trafficking Unit | Kings County (Brooklyn) District Attorneys Office | Brooklyn Human Trafficking Task Force
Spent a busy but impactful week here in Norway. Was able to present and highlight how our unit, and the Brooklyn Human Trafficking Task Force, operate to combat human trafficking at the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office. I also had the opportunity today to meet with Julie Platou Kvammen and discuss strategy with some great investigators and prosecutors from Kripos and Oslo politidistrikt. Ended the day meeting with Hadia Tajik, Representative from Rogaland and the deputy leader of the Committee of Justice in the Norwegian Parliament. Thank you for taking the time to meet with us at the Parliament to discuss this important issue. Thank you to ROSA Stop Human Trafficking and Leila Langdalen for the invitation to present. Your conference had very insightful topics. I was even able to get in a quick visit to the site of the Lillehammer Olympic Ski jump! #collaboration #forcedlabor #endhumantrafficking

In this episode of ACAMS Live, Craig Timm discusses the key takeaways from the recent Law Enforcement Seminar. 1️⃣ Whistleblowers are the number one source of new cases against financial institutions and their employees, according to Michael Grady, Chief, Bank Integrity Unit, U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division. This is attributed to Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, US Treasury's (FinCEN) whistleblower program, part of the AML Act 2020. 2️⃣ Threat of AI. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), IRS Criminal Investigation,U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), and Brooklyn District Attorney's Office present concerning trends including account takeovers and deep fakes, where criminal use of AI is evolving and increasing in sophistication. 3️⃣ Effective engagement on subpoenas is critical for law enforcement. However, poor communication and lack of understanding waste resources. ACAMS Making Subpoena Process More Effective Toolkit addresses some of these challenges. (link in the comments). Did you attend the seminar? What were your takeaways? Have you had a positive experience where a public-private partnership made a difference? Let us know in the comments. #LawEnforcement #ACAMSLive #AML
