Founder + CEO | Building smarter communities with technology | Hospitality Focused Founder

Starting a business from scratch can be both thrilling and terrifying. The fear of failure, the unknown, and the financial risks weighed on me heavily. I'm currently preparing to launch my pilot next month and normally I would be so anxious that I'd make myself sick thinking about it. But over the last few months, I've had such positive interactions that have helped me build a few key strategies to calm my nerves and keep me focused: 📣 Embrace the Learning Process: As a lifelong athlete, I've always viewed failure as an opportunity to learn. Each challenge is a step forward in growth. Progress matters more than perfection. 🤝 Surround Yourself with the Right Support: Building a strong support system has been crucial. I'm a solo founder but I have very strategic in who I have allowed to go on this journey with me. Having people who understand the journey makes a world of difference. 💃 Take it One Step at a Time: I'm still working on this one. Focusing on today’s task instead of the massive long-term vision calms my mind and allows me to move forward with confidence. I have to remind myself multiple times a day that I'm doing great and to just take one thing at a time. I'm really learning that you don’t need to have it all figured out at once. I'm trusting the process and leaning into the uncertainty—it’s part of the adventure! #Entrepreneurship #StartupLife #GrowthMindset #Resilience

😇Some events are just good for the soul. It was inspirational to see all of the founders from the new 2024 cohort of Build in Tulsa W.E Build, powered by Goldman Sachs, showcasing their 🎙️products, ideas, roadmaps, and stories at Demo Day. It was telling of the impact they had already made with the packed hall at the historic Big 10 Ballroom last week. Founders, partners, supporters, and community members all showed up to elevate and connect with these powerhouse women entrepreneurs. Each founder was given tools and support like 25k 💰non-dilluted funding, housing 🏡stipend, and access to all of the Build in Tulsa services. These female founders took what they had been working on and accelerated in to the next level.📈 As I am the product of generations of strong women, I was encouraged to see a diverse community of people come out to support these women with a powerful vision, especially given the fact that less than 2% of female-lead startups have historiclly been able to raise venture capital💡. I personally got to connect with a couple of the founders through the work that I do and let me preach 🗣️to you that we are lucky to have their talent in Oklahoma, as they are unrivaled in their entrepreneurial spirit. I highly suggest you check out what they have been working on the past three months and if you find synergy, connect with them. ⚡️ 👉 https://lnkd.in/gYg44csi Ashli Sims, Build in Tulsa, Naomi Sanon, Krisheena Suarez, Desiree Frieson, Sydni Sayles, Tamara Moore, Kristopher Dobbins, Victoria Davis, Lauren Hodrick, Rachelle Blades, Dr. Ashley Dash, Ashley Yearby, Jasmine Lewis, LE, Kenya Carter, Lisa Goshon, Margo Falls, Modjossorica (Rica) Elysee
