Salary transparency is a good thing It's coming to Massachusetts, the bill is on it's way to the Governor. 📌 Employers with 25 + employees need to disclose a salary range when posting a position 📌 An employee has the right to ask for the salary range when applying for a job or seeking a promotion 📌 Employers with more than 100 employees will need to share their federal wage and workforce data reports with the MA Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development While the 2016 Equal Pay Act had an impact, it didn't close the gap. Boston Women's Workforce Council says the 2023 gender wage gap was 21¢ When comparing white men and women of color 📌 Black/African American women face a 54¢ wage gap 📌 Hispanic/Latina women face a 52¢ wage gap 📌 Asian women face a 19¢ wage gap If you need support making this culture and process shift, reach out https://lnkd.in/e7qxJqRV Read more: https://lnkd.in/gn7p73iD.

"The Frances Perkins Workplace Equity Act — named after the first woman to serve as US labor secretary — would require employers with 25 full-time employees or more to disclose salary ranges in their job postings and protect an employee’s right to ask for salary ranges in the workplace. Requiring employers to list a pay range on job postings — say from $80,000 to $100,000 for a project manager — can reduce inequities because women and people of color tend to underestimate their asking salaries, according to advocates who have studied the issue."
