Next-Generation Baby Nutrition.

About us

ByHeart is an infant nutrition company built from the ground up to deliver real innovation on behalf of babies and parents. Our mission is simple: make the best formula in the world. That’s why we studied the latest breast milk science, worked directly with suppliers we know and trust, set uncompromising quality standards, developed our own small batch blending process, built our own manufacturing facilities, and conducted a groundbreaking clinical trial. Our goal is to create a future where all parents feel amazing about feeding their baby—no matter how they do it. When we launched our Whole Nutrition Infant Formula in March 2022, we were the first new U.S infant formula manufacturer in 15 years. Since then, we’ve been leading the way in a lot of ways. We’re… - The only U.S.-made infant formula to use organic, grass-fed whole milk - The first and only U.S. infant formula company to add the two most abundant proteins found in breast milk—alpha-lac and lactoferrin—to our ingredients list - The first infant formula company to receive Clean Label Project’s Purity Award (and we test for 700 contaminants vs the required 400) - We ran the largest clinical trial by a new infant formula brand in 25 years—clinically proving our benefits vs a leading infant formula like: -Less spit up - Softer poops - Easier digestion - More efficient weight gain - Enhanced nutrient absorption - Longer stretches between nighttime feeds* With >$250M in funding, we’re shifting the industry forward—and this is just the beginning. Help us build a future where all parents can feel amazing about feeding, by joining our growing team of >275 people that stretches across the country.

ByHeart is BACK! We truly cannot begin to explain how excited we are to announce that we are exclusively launching with one of the nation’s biggest retailers—Target! This means that our formula is available to families in more places. Starting today, we’re rolling out in stores across the country. This announcement comes on the heels of months of hard work and sheer determination. And throughout this process, we never lost sight of the magnitude of what we’re all doing here—making the most important food for the most important people, babies. byheart.com

Earlier this month, two of our team members, Diana Orenstein MS, MSEd, RDN, Sr. Director of Nutrition Science & Research, and Jenna Safina, Director of Regulatory Affairs, were thrilled to attend the Bioactive Infant Formula & Nutrition Summit in Boston, MA. They had the opportunity to connect and strategize over a topic near and dear to our hearts: bridging the gap between formula and breast milk.   As an industry-leader representing ByHeart, Diana also led a talk focused on the importance of clinical research—something we’re also passionate about at ByHeart!    Big thanks to the summit organizers for the chance to contribute to such an important topic. We can’t wait to continue the conversations we started in Boston!

We recently welcomed Rep. Chrissy Houlahan to tour our manufacturing facility in Reading, PA. As her office recently announced, the ByHeart team worked closely with Rep. Houlahan on developing the Infant Tax Credit Act, a bipartisan bill intended to support the growth of the American infant formula supply chain. Born out of the infant formula shortage that occurred in 2022, this bill, if passed, will provide incentives to industry newcomers and encourage the industry’s manufacturing ecosystem that’s so greatly needed to ensure that parents have consistent and reliable access to their baby’s first food. “It creates a vulnerability that if one of those facilities isn't running, you have a big part of the country that can't find infant formula. We need to continue to drive new research, new discovery and better formulas. It’s important because this serves as the foundation of future health.”   — Ron Belldegrun, ByHeart Co-Founder and CEO https://lnkd.in/e6DVhu42

At ByHeart, we are committed to doing better for babies, and we're so proud to have worked with Representatives Zach Nunn and Chrissy Houlahan on the the INFANT Tax Credit Act—a significant bill that will bring more diversification and innovation to a vulnerable industry, provide more options for parents and babies, and reduce the chance of another shortage. Building an infant formula company from the ground up requires a significant financial investment before you can even start. And this financial obstacle is the reason that, aside from ByHeart, only four manufacturers exist in the US today. “As the first new US formula manufacturer in decades, with facilities in Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Oregon, ByHeart is committed to making the highest quality infant formula in the world, with a mission of helping all parents feel confident about how they feed their babies. But we’re also working to encourage more companies to join us in innovating on behalf of babies and doing better for their health. This bill will support more companies in building manufacturing facilities and offering parents more options. This is a critical step in building a stronger infant nutrition industry and creating healthier futures for our babies. We applaud Representative Nunn’s and Representative Houlahan’s leadership on this critical issue.” — Ron Belldegrun, ByHeart Co-Founder and CEO https://lnkd.in/ensMjeCU https://lnkd.in/eerEMbHK

Yesterday, our leadership team and Allerton employees welcomed Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley to our facility to learn more about how we are building from the ground up to deliver real innovation on behalf of babies and parents. When ByHeart started seven years ago, we committed to making the best infant formula in the world and to manufacturing it all ourselves so that we can ensure the highest quality standards. We believe that this is what babies and their families deserve, and we want to serve as an example of how this industry can and should evolve. Our acquisition of the Allerton facility was a significant milestone for us, giving us full control over our manufacturing process and guaranteeing that we can reliably deliver infant formula for families. We are grateful to Senator Grassley for speaking with our employees and for welcoming us into the Allerton community. ByHeart is committed to creating great jobs and best-in-class formula in Iowa and at all our facilities.

We're udderly delighted to see our NEVER SKIM campaign in the wild! The ByHeart team took to the streets today to take in all of our hard work (obviously, we never skim on the matching looks). And to answer everyone's question: Yes, we were moo-ed at. No, we weren't mad about it. Find us on billboards and posters all over NYC! We're so proud of our campaign, how we never skim on our babies (or ourselves)—and to be the only US-made infant formula* to use only organic, grass-fed whole milk. Never skim. *With globally sourced ingredients

We couldn’t be more proud of our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Devon Kuehn. Recently, she did a week-long surgical mission with Healing the Children in Tanzania, an organization that reaches across national boundaries to provide children who are in need of medical care. They arrange a team of volunteer doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to go to underdeveloped countries to provide medical treatments and surgeries for children in need. Dr. Devon, you continue to inspire us all at ByHeart!

We had a great time exhibiting at this year's American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Annual Clinical & Scientific Meeting, where we connected with hundreds of leaders in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the ByHeart booth. We discussed ByHeart's path to innovation, our clinical trial, and distinctions of our Whole Milk Infant Formula. Thank you American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) for the opportunity to support!
