👻 Happy Halloween from the Byteboard team! 🎃 No tricks here—just a friendly (or maybe a bit spooky 👀) reminder that technical assessments don’t have to be so scary! With Byteboard, the process is less daunting and built to bring out the best in every candidate. Wishing everyone a frightfully fun and safe Halloween! 🎉

Got this note from a candidate 💜 . I loved the last line. So often when I failed my technical interviews, I would walk away annoyed that I forgotten to memorize an algorithm or "the trick" vs having any relevant feedback on my ability to do the job.

Had a blast chatting with Anders Sundquist about the evolving talent landscape in the #AI industry, Hebbia's role in the ecosystem, strategies for attracting and assessing top #talent, and the pivots made to continue to deliver a best in class candidate experience. Thanks for the opportunity, Anders! Shoutouts to Byteboard, The Swarm 🔆, Metaview, and Juicebox (YC S22) for building fantastic products we're proud to have in our talent toolkit. 🧰 Quick plug: We're #hiring GTM Recruiters, People Ops Specialists, and Talent Coordinators! Oh, and Engineers, Designers, Enterprise AE's, PM's, DevOps, Engagement Managers, RevOps, etc. etc. etc. 😅 🚀 oh and did I mention #RECRUITERS?? ~:) check out our openings here: https://lnkd.in/effARJpP
Want to brush up on your #AI knowledge? Learn from Hebbia Founding Talent Partner, the legend Scott Bianco! In our latest episode of Lean In Podcast we go deep into AI, LLMs, RAG etc. I am deeply grateful for him joining the show and dropping knowledge 🙏 Full episode in the comments 👇

👉 ICYMI: Last week, Byteboard posted some key findings from our quarterly review of assessment data and the results reaffirmed our founding mission: Providing every candidate with a fair platform to showcase their abilities, regardless of their background. Our latest data reaffirms Byteboard’s success in meeting—and frequently exceeding—the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s "four-fifths rule" for fairness, which calls for a ratio of 0.8 or higher across groups to demonstrate an unbiased and equitable process for all. We’re proud of these results and look forward to continuing to make a difference in technical hiring!

Happy Friday! 🎉 At Byteboard, we’re proud to have conducted over 28,000 technical assessments since our founding, helping companies find the right technical talent. With assessments across 9 domains and support for 20+ programming languages, we've built a platform that’s as versatile as the teams we serve. But what we’re most proud of? The feedback from candidates who appreciate how our assessments go beyond typical Leetcode-style questions to reflect real-world challenges. At Byteboard, we believe better assessments lead to better hires—and ultimately, stronger teams.

Take a look at this awesome feedback from one of our Figma intern candidates! It doesn't get much better than that. "... and excellent, fitting OA tool. It genuinely reflects what I expect to work on as a Software Engineering Intern in my day to day and I think it's an amazing way of evaluating candidates. Top notch candidate experience!" Figma interns get to showcase their skills with Byteboard, and the Figma team can learn so much more about their candidates through our real-world assessments and skills reports. Grateful to do what we do here at Byteboard, bridging great candidates with great teams!
Moments like these make me stop my day and reflect on the immense impact Byteboard has each day on candidates and great organizations! This candidate's feedback sums up Byteboard better than any sales deck, website headline, or I could even do. If you're curious what my life is all about, peek the note. Byteboard 💜 Figma Isaac H. thanks so much for sharing and being such a wonderful partner to us and to all the candidates you support!

Our recent analysis has unveiled great insights and key trends among our candidates: 🔹 Among programming languages, Python stands out as the most commonly used in our assessments! These insights drive our dedication to continuously aligning our assessments with the skills and technologies that are most relevant in today’s job market.

In tech hiring, fairness and inclusivity shouldn't just be goals—they’re essential. At Byteboard, we’ve embedded equity into the core of our technical interview process from the start. Our mission? To ensure every candidate has an equal opportunity to showcase their skills, no matter their background. One way we uphold this commitment is through ongoing analysis of our interview data. We track the impact of our assessments on diverse candidate groups and ensure that our process meets the standards set by the EEOC for fairness. According to the “four-fifths rule,” an equitable process must maintain a ratio of 0.8 or above for all groups to avoid signs of discrimination. Our latest findings show that Byteboard continues to meet and exceed these expectations, with all groups scoring above the 0.8 benchmark. We’re proud of the progress but even more excited about what this means for the future of tech hiring. Together, we’re breaking down barriers and creating a hiring process that works for everyone. 🌍
While the industry has somewhat wavered lately in their interest in supporting equitable solutions and teams (only to pendulum back when their businesses take a hit..), at Byteboard we're still motivated to keep building the best technical interview solution *for all*. Every quarter, our assessment development team pulls together a report on how Byteboard assessments and candidates are performing across a variety of metrics, from what languages are most common, what roles are most popular, to the performance on certain skills. One particularly pertinent metric, we have always been keen to report publicly is the adverse impact (impact to specific populations) across underrepresented groups of our interviews. Per the EEOC's Title VII, it requires monitoring of an employer's selection procedures for negative impact on the basis of race, sex, etc. The "four-fifths rule" is used to serve as rule of thumb for the presence of adverse impact, where rates of <0.8 represent evidence of discrimination. Our latest adverse impact analysis -- Byteboard interviews exceeding past the 0.8 ratio across all groups. 🎉 Proud to be building a better interview platform for everyone.
