🌟 What a fantastic week at #LM2024! We're proud to celebrate Adaria Russell, CHA Lifestyle Medicine Coordinator, and her co-author Caitlan Webster for presenting their findings on the impactful Food is Medicine cooking classes we offer monthly. Their research highlights how these classes empower our participants to embrace healthy, delicious meals as a vital part of managing and preventing chronic diseases. A huge thank you to Dr. Andrew Nance, MD, and Lucia Novak, PA-C, for their invaluable support in connecting motivated patients to this initiative. The Cabarrus Health Alliance (CHA), the health department serving Cabarrus County, brings nationally recognized leadership and expertise in public health to the the NC Research Campus. CHA is one of the only nationally certified public health departments in the country. CHA provides many free to low-cost classes and programs for the residents of Cabarrus County on subjects such as healthy cooking, yoga, nutrition education and disease management. Classes and programs are offered at the CHA headquarters in Kannapolis and throughout Cabarrus County in neighborhood centers, churches and other facilities.
