A Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) and a Downtown Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district, were announced yesterday to transform the economic landscape of downtown, putting power back into the hands of the community and helping government get out of the way. Both will provide the necessary funding and structure for growth to take off and be sustained regardless of changes in local government and political leadership. Our Community Connect Downtown security camera grant program is live! The program offers grants to property owners to purchase and place security cameras on commercial buildings in Downtown Albuquerque. The cameras will be connected to APD’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC), providing a vital link to improve crime monitoring and response times.
