Our inauguration event in pictures 📸
On March 21st, World Down Syndrome Day, we officially inaugurated Café Joyeux' 21st café in the world, the first one in the US! Café Joyeux Lexington currently employs 19 people, including 14 with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
It was a day filled with delicious food, heartwarming encounters, emotions and joy. A special 🙏 to our 4 very special guests who flew in for the occasion: Victoria and Anne-France, Joyeux crew members in France, Olivia (Belgium), and Sebastiao (Portugal). Kudos to the EXTRA-ordinary team in the US who made this day and every day special for our guests: Shray, Sarah, Angelo, Ariel, Rashelle, Safia, Eli, Malik, Nick, Rachel, Diana, Troy, Ismail, Zach, Gideon, Jordan, Aliyah, Josh and Peter.
This inauguration was the pinnacle of 3 years of hard work, where incredible people from different horizons helped us bring this project to life. A massive and joyful thank you to Boston Properties (BXP), Gensler, L&K Partners Inc., Maison Sarah Lavoine, Chef Thierry Marx, FUTURE BRAND THINKING, Klick, Consulate of France in New York, Embassy of France in the United States, Edelman, GiGi's Playhouse - NYC, Best Buddies in New York, JCC Manhattan, Winston Preparatory School, AHRC New York City, Future Centered Care, Autism Speaks, The Taft Foundation, NYCT, and our Board of Directors.
A special nod to Lorraine Chastenet, who’s been at the helm of this inauguration and the US project, now passing the baton to Sylvie Giret, our newly appointed CEO. 🙌 to Joyeux French and European teams, who’ve been helping behind the scenes.
