  • We envision a community that is equitable, just, and prosperous for everyone. To bring this vision to life, reflecting on how we do our work and show up for our community is vital.    In 2021, we immersed ourselves in a year-long diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiative led by a nationally renowned DEI consultant, EnterChange Group. We dug into policies, practices, and structures across CAP to explore one of three big questions embedded in our strategic plan: How do we address race, power, and privilege in the work we do?    Out of that initiative came an equity work plan that we have been working our way through since, part of which included putting into words our commitment to centering equity and justice in our work.    We are proud to share with you our DEI Vision – it is the heart of our work, and its promises will guide us in moving equity, justice, and prosperity forward in our community! • Community and collaboration is very important to us at Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County. We believe we can learn from one another to help families thrive. Our 2Gen Community of Practice gathers every other month for some serious peer learning and networking. Together, we’re taking the initiative to deepen our understanding and practice of the whole family approach in Lancaster. This morning we completed our latest session, Principle 4: Foster Innovation and Evidence together. Each Community of Practice session will build on and deepen the topic from the previous month’s lunch and learn topic. Our next 2Gen Community of Practice will be on Principle 5: Align and Link Systems and Funding Streams on April 17. If you are interested in this amazing group, please reach out. We are always looking to collaborate with other dedicated members in our community.

  • We were excited to speak with WGAL 8 TV Meredith L Jorgensen Cooke this morning regarding food insecurity in Lancaster County.  CAP’s food distribution program has seen significant upticks in the number of folks accessing our 40-pantry network of food partners, and many have expressed they have already exhausted their annual funding, which won’t be replenished until next June. Joining Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County VP of Health and Nutrition, Julie Rhoads, were our partners at Zion Lutheran Church, Barrie Schmid, Peter’s Porch food pantry manager, and Lenahan. If you would like to learn more about this urgent need and how you can help, please message us or email Marketing@caplanc.com
