Announcing our new CEO: Steve Arner, previously our president and COO, starts his new role today, Oct.1! Steve, who has served as COO since 2012 and was promoted to president in 2023, first joined Carilion 26 years ago. More recently, he led our health system's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and spearheaded our investments in the Carilion Children's and Mental Health facilities at Tanglewood as well as the Crystal Spring Tower addition to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Steve succeeds Nancy Howell Agee, who has retired as CEO and will serve as CEO Emeritus through September 2025. Please join us in congratulating him!
