During this Catholic Sisters Week, Catholic Charities honored women religious who contribute to the agency’s mission of service and sisters from the Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara. The sisters who support Catholic Charities work with Adult and Children Clinical Services, Refugee Services, Newcomer Network, Trafficking Victims Assistance Program, Health Care Network, staff professional development and other programs. A Mass with our mission advocate, Msgr. John Enzler, was followed by a luncheon with CEO Jim Malloy and the agency’s executive team. In observance of its 40th anniversary, our Health Care Network hosted a breakfast reception at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for doctors and administrators from three area hospitals that provide pro bono care to patients. CEO Jim Malloy presented Dr. David Song of MedStar Georgetown with a plaque of appreciation for the many contributions to the Health Care Network by the hospital and its doctors.
