Each day, Catholic Charities staff and volunteers serve our neighbors — the hungry, the unhoused, those in need of counseling or job training, the elderly, expectant mothers — with love and compassion. Because dignity is no small thing. go.wearethere.us/3x5BQxz #WeAreThere

Catholic Charities accompanies anyone in need regardless of faith, gender, race, or ethnicity.
About us
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago was founded more than a century ago to meet human need. We accompany anyone in need regardless of their faith, race, gender, or ethnicity. By unifying and collaborating across the Catholic community during the 1917 global pandemic, our founders envisioned that together we might make a bigger difference for our community, and we did . . . and still do. A trusted partner and steward, Catholic Charities has grown to be one of the largest human service providers in the Chicago metropolitan region, covering Cook and Lake counties.

“Here, newly arrived migrants, long-time Chicagoans, staff members, volunteers, people without a place to call home, we all are humans with a story,” says Calvin, who travels over 10 miles every weeknight to be at Catholic Charities nightly suppers. “This is a community of love and acceptance.” Learn more about why he makes the journey — and why this community matters to him: https://bit.ly/3YgInku

“When we support the agency of women, they are able to flourish and turn their lives around—for themselves and for their children.” — Aida Segura, Director, House of Peace Mothers who are survivors of domestic violence, and their children, find safety and healing through supports and programs offered by Catholic Charities. Transitional homes provide safe housing for up to 12 months, along with intensive case management, connections to benefits, and medical care. The team ultimately helps moms and their children transition to subsidized housing. Programs like this are needed now more than ever as calls to the Illinois Domestic Violence Hotline are up 45% from 2022—with nearly 18,000 contacts requesting shelter in 2023. Show survivors of domestic violence they are not alone. Make a gift today at https://lnkd.in/gMpkEWD2

No one should grieve alone. Since Father Charles Rubey created it in 1979, the LOSS (Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide) Program has welcomed all who are moving through suicide grief. Through services like grief education, counseling, and group meetings, LOSS helps survivors find healing in community, and is committed to providing services free of charge for as long as survivors need them. This is only possible through the generous support of the community. Help bring hope to survivors of suicide loss by making a gift today: https://lnkd.in/guWNTRzr.
