About us
Our Vision Catholic Charities helps solve the problems of New Yorkers in need - non-Catholics and Catholics alike. The neglected child, the homeless family, and the hungry senior are among those for whom we provide help and create hope. We rebuild lives and touch almost every human need promptly, locally, day in and day out, always with compassion and dignity. We help your neighbors as you would like to be helped if your family were in need. Our Mission The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York seeks to uphold the dignity of each person as made in the image of God by serving the basic needs of the poor, troubled, frail and oppressed of all religions. We collaborate with parishes, as well as non-Catholic and Catholic partners, to build a compassionate and just society. Through a network of administered, sponsored and affiliated agencies, Catholic Charities delivers, coordinates, and advocates for quality human services and programs touching almost every human need.

We're grateful to Lou and Pat DiCerbo for hosting an inspiring luncheon and discussion about the critical needs of New York’s emergency food programs. It was an honor to have Monsignor Kevin Sullivan share his insights on the vital work being done by Catholic Charities and the St. Francis Breadline to serve those on the frontlines. Moments like these remind us how blessed we are and the importance of giving back to support our communities. #CatholicCharitiesNY

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: MEET JONAS! This month, we shine a light on Jonas, who has taken a unique approach to volunteering at Mercy Center in the South Bronx. Discovering that ESL students often arrive hungry for their morning classes, Jonas, an avid baker, decided to make a difference. Every Thursday evening, he bakes muffins in bulk and hand-delivers them to Mercy Center for breakfast each Friday. Despite being a full-time student, Jonas is deeply attuned to the needs of the community he serves. While he may not interact directly with the clients, knowing his treats provide nourishment is more than enough for him. As he says, "If it's really meaningful to you, there's always a time, there's always a place." Thank you, Jonas, for your inspiring dedication! #VolunteerSpotlight #CatholicCharitiesNY
