Community Engineering Corps brings underserved communities and volunteers together to advance local engineering solution
About us
Leveraging the membership of Community Engineering Corps’ alliance organizations – American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Water Works Association, and Engineers Without Borders USA – we bring more than 200,000 technical professionals and students together to serve communities across the United States. These individuals volunteer their time and expertise to assist communities that do not have the resources to access engineering services. With a strong commitment to community-driven projects, our volunteers work alongside community members to design solutions to identified problems.

We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to be part of this project.
This month marks a significant milestone for Greenwood Cemetery, St. Louis’ first non-sectarian, commercial African American cemetery. Once neglected and forgotten, Greenwood has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years. The journey began in 2016 when Raphael and Shelby Morris discovered that over a dozen of their relatives, along with notable figures like Harriet Robinson Scott, were buried within its grounds. Inspired by this historical connection, they embarked on a mission to restore the cemetery. With the support of organizations like Engineers Without Borders USA, through the Community Engineering Corps, they’ve breathed new life into this sacred space, uncovering countless stories of African American history in St. Louis. As Greenwood Cemetery reaches its 150th anniversary, we invite you to learn more about its inspiring journey and the individuals who have made it possible.

We're very excited to see progress on this project! We appreciate the opportunity to be involved.
Construction has officially started on our Greenwood Cemetery Road Improvement Community Engineering Corps project! We are confident Greenwood is in good hands with Gabriel Cardenas and Missouri Constructors as our construction agent and partner. This project could not have been possible without the financial support of the American Chemistry Council and the design services provided by Civil Design, Inc. Stay tuned for updates as construction progresses!

Want to volunteer your technical abilities, but don't have the time to commit to a full project? Community Engineering Corps has the role for you! We are announcing an exciting new opportunity for volunteers to get involved with the program: becoming a member of the Community Engineering Corps Expert Roster. This roster will consist of expert volunteers to engage in projects intended to support underserved communities in accessing funding for critical infrastructure improvements. The roster will be utilized for projects that vary from a traditional project scope and need assistance with project development, scope review, and/or fee proposals. These projects span a wide range of disciplines, including drinking water, wastewater, transportation, structural analysis and more. To view a complete description of this opportunity, and apply to join the roster, visit our volunteer opportunities board (https://lnkd.in/g7gCtKex). We also encourage you to join us at noon MT on Oct. 28 to learn more about this opportunity during our Community Engineering Corps Expert Roster Webinar, where we will be speaking more in depth about this role and answering any questions.
