Releasing of the Doves is a symbol of the love we have for those we have lost. Last month might have been Suicide Awareness Month, but doves fly every day. Thanks again to Second Wind Fund for hosting the walk/run for youth suicide prevention. If you or a loved one are having thoughts of suicide, please call or text 988.

For the 23rd year in a row, the Second Wind Fund held their annual walk/run for youth suicide prevention. We felt the love, hope and remembrance. We honored our past, celebrated our impact and invested in the future of mental health care for youth alongside walkers, runners and virtual couch-racers! And, we held a releasing of the doves to honor those we have lost. Thank you for having us and bravo for putting on such a powerful event. Here's to a quarter-century coming up! If you or someone you love is having thoughts about suicide, please call or text 988.

Fun fact: "Lolapalooza" is an old word meaning "extraordinarily impressive," coined in a Three Stooges film. So, naturally, we named our annual skills fair, "Skillzapalooza!" All hospital departments came together for the fair: Business Development, Medical Records, Infection Control, Social Work, Nursing, DEI, HR, Nursing, Risk Management, Plant Operations and more. They helped to teach our staff on the inner workings of our hospital. Sometimes, the day-to-day keeps us from really grasping all that our teams do! Each staff member cycled through booths to refresh their knowledge on interdepartmental functions, "Bingo"cards and snacks in hand. With the incredibly fast pace of our campus activities, it was a fun team building experience!

The "Dream Team", aka our Community Liaisons for Centennial Peaks and our sister hospital Highlands Behavioral Health System, had a blast in Breckenridge! The 2024 Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council conference was more connecting and fruitful than years before. We were delighted to enrich existing partnerships and fuse new ones to enter 2025 strong and collaborative. Thank you to all the sponsors and speakers!

The World Health Organization has declared today to be World Mental Health Day in an effort to increase global awareness of mental health issues. For us and many of our valued community partners, this is just part of daily life. Even though a single day won't raise enough awareness, we will seize every opportunity to emphasize how crucial mental health is to everyone. #WorldMentalHealthDay If you or a loved one is struggling, we're here for you! Call us 24/7 for a no-cost level of care assessment at 303-666-2088.

We were lucky enough to greet (and sign!) the Mobilize Recovery bus on their cross-country bus tour stop in Castle Rock! They certainly made good on their mission, and the nature of recovery, to "meet people where they're at." What a better day for this than International Recovery Day. We were in awe of the speakers, poetry, live music and empowerment. Brandon Novak's appearance was an added bonus, and his story was inspiring! Thanks to HardBeauty for all your work on bringing this bus stop to fruition.

We were touched by the turnout for this year's Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk. Thank you to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, all the volunteers, sponsors and most importantly, community members that came out in remembrance to walk away the dark.

Thank you to Cindy Goldrich of PTS Coaching. LLC for the spectacular presentation on how parent coaching can improve therapeutic outcomes for children with ADHD! This was unique in that we had a few attendees present that were already using her books in their practices, which made for an especially engaging dialogue. The audience was a mix of mental health professionals, parents, and people with ADHD themselves. We can't stress enough the impact each individual expressed!
