What is Centro San Antonio? We are a placemaking organization that strives every day to catalyze a more beautiful, playful, prosperous and welcoming downtown San Antonio that amplifies our culture, heritage and spirit. Placemaking is a multi-faceted approach to the planning, design and management of physical, cultural, and social identities that define a place and support its ongoing evolution. It capitalizes on a local community's assets, inspiration, and potential, with the intention of creating public spaces that promote people's health, happiness, and well-being. Placemaking is both a process and a philosophy that makes use of urban and user design principles.
