Ceresti is proud to have been selected by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to pilot a new model in #dementia care that activates #caregivers, lowers costs and improves lives.

CERESTI HEALTH conducted a clinical study that proved that including the family caregiver in the care team reduces medical costs for persons living with dementia. Our study compared claims-based outcomes from 131 Medicare Advantage members with dementia (whose caregivers enrolled in Ceresti's Caregiver-Enabled Care Program) to 393 matched members, also with dementia. Statistically significant cost savings were $7,392 per year. Last month, UCSF published results from their Care Ecosystem study in JAMA Network and showed statistically significant cost savings of $6,321 per year. The UCSF study was a randomized clinical trial that compared 303 Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries with dementia to 157 enrollees who received usual care. The fact that these 2 studies--conducted in different population, by different groups, with CMS GUIDE-like interventions that include the family caregiver in the care team-- showed such similar cost savings is another proof point that caregiver-enabled care has a compelling ROI. #medicareadvantage #dementiacare #GUIDEmodel
