Sending our thoughts to Tampa Bay and our surrounding communities as we navigate Hurricane Milton. Tampa Bay is home to many members of our team. It's where Certus Core grew from an idea to a company and where we’ve built an incredible ecosystem of creators, innovators, and big thinkers. It’s a very difficult time for everyone navigating the recent storms, but we don't know another community that is as resilient and strong as Tampa. Stay safe out there  💜

Protecting the safety of our nation is a big task. Getting the data to help ensure that safety shouldn’t be. That’s why our semantic #knowledgegraph tech meets the definition of open architecture. Meaning: -You can utilize industry standard #software and interfaces to do your data work, like #Python and Spark -You benefit when new technologies are released -It’s easy to swap capabilities and components -There’s no proprietary architecture here! We’re not the only ones utilizing an #openarchitecture framework. But we are one of the only ones to make implementation and integration easier. Many legacy systems still maintain proprietary architectures, leading to more difficult integration with other systems. Want to learn more about how our #sKG tech makes extracting info from your #data easy? Let’s chat: certuscore.com.

Our greatest weapon? #Innovation. But in that way, we’ve been one of our own worst enemies. Smaller startups are often the most innovative, but the complex process of procuring a #DoD contract has gotten them stuck in the “Valley of Death.” According to J.P. Morgan, that’s changing. Why? -The United States Department of Defense has proposed a $850 billion defense budget for 2025 and there are ample amounts of private capital to support defense startups -The Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (through Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)) provide funding to founders -The DoD is working to create greater alignment between its ways of working and how startups function When we collaborate, we can harness the power of #emergenttech to remain ahead of adversaries and keep our nation safe. $3.7 billion. That’s where the #knowledgegraph industry is headed, catapulting at a CAGR of over 13.5% between 2023 and 2032, according to Global Market Insights Inc. That’s great news (and not just because we’ve built a #semanticknowledgegraph). It represents a better understanding of the importance of knowledge graphs to help us discover the relationships between data and entities. We’re on the brink of a data deluge. But we’re also on the brink of a new age of #AI. Let’s take advantage of today’s most #innovative tech to solve our biggest data challenges. We just so happen to make that a lot easier and faster by fitting the definition of #openarchitecture and supporting #Python Book a demo for your knowledge graph solution: certuscore.com

The biggest conversation at last week’s Air, Space, and Cyber Conference? Not what we hoped. Don’t get us wrong: it was invigorating to see developments in tanks, aircraft, and surface vessels. The Spark Cells were a major highlight, showing innovative ideas being developed organically across the #AirForce. But we wanted to hear more about #data. Few organizations are prioritizing the need to use data from #autonomous systems in a meaningful manner. Data is our biggest challenge and opportunity — and to avert disaster, we need to see progress now, rather than waiting until it's almost too late. That’s why our mission is to help organizations collect the right data AND find actionable insights for a safer future. Did you make it to the conference? What were some of your biggest takeaways? #asc2024 United States Air Force

15 years ago, inconsistent and messy data was a major issue in defense. The problem? It's still an issue today. The latest Jake's Takes, from our co-founder Jake Dyal, explores how messy data continues to plague defense and makes it difficult for companies to take advantage of #AI solutions. Jake breaks down: -The purpose of an #ontology -His firsthand experience with messy #data -Why consistency is crucial when using AI solutions -The thing that matters more than the data Check out the latest Jake's Takes 👇

If you want to integrate Artificial Intelligence into your organization don't expect it to work unless you clean up the mess of your data. Your mess isn't nearly as hard to work with if it has a consistent pattern or format. If you're thinking about integrating solutions take some time to organize the mess you will hand that new AI capability. This seemingly small step will make your organization more AI ready and contribute to your long term adoption of a valued AI solution. #defensetech #genai #semanticknowledgegraph Dan Folliard Melissa Johnson Vin Vashishta Jock Padgett Mike Dillinger, PhD Ryan Riccucci Matt Parrish Robert “Ramsey” Oliver David Radell

Certus Core began with money laundering. No, not like that. Our co-founders, Joe B. , Timothy Toohill, and Jake Dyal were working together at a different organization, and they were trying to solve a money laundering and sanctions evasion problem. Their solution? An ontology-driven #knowledgegraph. They took all the data they could get— like shipping data and highly regulated financial data from financial crimes, and they built a knowledge graph to identify types of money laundering. That idea grew into a $10 million program office. Clearly, they were onto something. When Russia invaded Ukraine, Tim, Joe, and Jake saw an opportunity to build out Certus Core with USSOCOM. And the rest is history. Now, our #sKG tech is helping organizations tackle major data challenges and act faster and with greater insight to protect our future in an increasingly complex global landscape. When we say that James P Smith, CMA is a rockstar accountant, we’re not kidding. James is the overseer of Certus Core’s financials, but he also spent 20 years touring as a professional musician, playing the guitar for audiences across the world. Childhood dream? ✅ Cool icebreaker story for life? ✅ That dedication, tenacity, and curiosity drew him to learn how businesses operate, eventually fueling a career in accounting. "The language of business,” as they say. (Or perhaps "the music of business" is more appropriate here.) “Certus is a team of collaborators who are conscientious and honest, looking to do what is right and willing to do more to ensure it is,” James says. “The team has a shared pursuit of excellence.” And when he’s not keeping our business running or shredding it on the guitar? You can find him fishing or woodworking—he built his own home office in his backyard.
