About us
Change Climate is an independent nonprofit on a mission to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions. We're creating the most recognized and trusted climate label, paired with accessible, action-focused tools and resources. We envision a world where all individuals can use their purchasing power against climate change, and all brands have the tools to be climate neutral. Our impact goal is 1 billion tonnes by 2030. Pumpkin Spice Season. Football Season. Sweater Season. Climate Season. September brings it all. This year, it also brings a big update from the Change Climate team. At Climate Week NYC, we will showcase our updated certification and climate label for the first time, at our own live networking event. This evolution is the culmination of many months, meetings, and meaningful conversations about what is needed from a framework aimed to eliminate GHG emissions. We're excited to share this work with our friends, partners and supporters. We're also excited to host an incredible panel of innovative thinkers, featuring Aileen Lerch of Allbirds, Josh Green of Novata, Economics Expert & Influencer Michael Mezzatesta, and Change Climate CEO Austin Whitman. They will deconstruct what climate strategies and approaches can get us to 2030 targets with five years to go. Last but not least, a shoutout to our partner sponsor Novata and our event sponsors, Peak Design and amika, for helping to make our launch event a reality. Stay tuned for a post-event recap and reveal of our updated label! #climateweeknyc #nycclimateweek #climatechange #sustainability

"We've been Climate Neutral Certified for 3 years and reduced our carbon footprint by 40% in that time." - This is huge. 🚀 If you're not investing in supply chain emissions reductions and funding the climate transition, you're not a corporate climate leader. DragonWear® certainly checks that box, not to mention their work with 1% for the Planet. The 2025 updates to our Certification Standard and Label specifically shift away from just neutrality and towards investing in the climate transition. We're excited to release this new framework because it better represents the vast array of decarbonization initiatives and climate solutions brands are investing in, while also funding the transition to a low-carbon future! Keep an eye out for the launch of our updated Standard and Label during Climate Week! 👀😉
Our founder and CEO, Alyx Fier, and President, Steve Misiano, recently appeared on The Power Element Podcast to share our company story with host Paul. From our humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name in the industry, they discussed the importance of building strong relationships and the challenges and triumphs of building a brand. One of the key initiatives we’re proud of is our partnership with 1% for the Planet and Climate Neutral, now known as The Change Climate Project. These partnerships highlight our commitment to sustainability and protecting the environment for future generations. Reducing corporate value chain emissions is table stakes — to meet 2030 targets, mitigate climate impact, and increasingly, to maintain market share. This webinar series is essentially a (free) masterclass in how to tackle the roughly 70% of emissions that fall under Scope 3, regardless if you're a seasoned sustainability pro or completely new to carbon management. Join Courtney Morrissette and the teams at Environmental Defense Fund and High-Level Climate Champions to learn innovative Scope 3 tracking and reduction strategies. You'll also see the BEE (Business Emissions Evaluator) in action, and how hundreds of household brands use it to measure and reduce emissions without the excessive costs of for-profit carbon accounting systems. This "Scope 3 Playbook" series gives companies all the tools and none of the excuses for making a meaningful impact and contributing to a net-zero future. See you there.
Every sustainability and procurement professional could use a playbook on strategies and approaches for addressing #Scope3 emissions from all angles. So we’re thrilled to be announcing the Net Zero Action Accelerator’s new Fall webinar series, "The Scope 3 Playbook: Mitigation Strategies for Companies” in partnership with Race to Zero, a global campaign led by the UN High-Level Climate Champions, to empower companies with knowledge and tools to make a meaningful impact. Details here: https://lnkd.in/geK8ktUd Why tackle Scope 3 now? ⏰ Scope 3 emissions often represent the largest and most complex share of a company’s carbon footprint. To meet #netzero goals and halve emissions by the end of the decade, urgent action needs to be taken. “The economy can get infinitely better, without having to get infinitely bigger” 💡This is exactly why corporate climate action is table stakes now. If you’re not making sustainability central to your business strategy and funding the climate transition, you’re not a climate leader. This is what our updated Standard drives, by leveraging the successful model of internal carbon pricing. Companies certifying in 2025 must invest in decarbonization initiatives throughout their supply chain and in high-integrity climate projects around the world. This equates to significant GHG removals immediately while incentivizing companies to fund renewable energy and innovations that reduce materials waste, water usage, and much more. We were fortunate to partner with a small cohort of early adopters, including some of our largest Certified companies, to test this updated framework and validate its efficacy. The time for target-setting is over, it’s time for companies to invest immediately in the climate transition. We’re helping companies prepare and plan their 2025 climate strategy now, who’s with us? Michael Mezzatesta distills complex economic and environmental challenges and opportunities like this in less than a minute. If you’re going to follow an environmental economist, make it him.
