  • Merlo held a productive Safety Awareness Training on Friday at the Imperial Room in Ebensburg and would like to thank all those who attended, facilitated, and made this day a success. The Merlo team received practical safety information from a variety of knowledgeable safety professionals, including Jay Stephan with Diversified Safety Services; Brian Neely with Flaherty Sales; Erika Dominick with PA One Call; and Kyle Peters & Will Sutter with Milwaukee Tool. Combining these outside safety resources with company specific safety topics has given our employees valuable safety knowledge that they can utilize in this 2025 construction season. 👍 👏

These Merlo crews are doing an incredible job preparing and pouring multiple 100 CY concrete mud mats each week for wind turbine generator foundations. From the excavation crews to the survey and layout crew, and the concrete placement crew.........all teams are working together and battling through the cold weather conditions to ensure these tasks are getting done safely. Thanks guys! And stay warm 🥶

  • Our Merlo crew in York County did a fine job completing this 150 cubic yard concrete deck pour a few weeks back. This 240' long deck is part of the first phase of construction for the three-span bridge carrying Wago Road over a Conewago Creek diversion channel. This crew is doing an excellent job on all aspects of this project. 👍

  • Our Merlo bridge crew in York, Pa did a great job last week setting nine, 80' long, 31 ton concrete box beams for the first phase of this three span bridge superstructure replacement. Fast forward ten days and this crew has intermediate diaphragms poured, overhang installed, and deck pans down. They are really getting it done in York County! Stay tuned for a concrete deck pour coming right up. Thanks to this crew for working both safely and efficiently! 👍 👍

  • Merlo is making some great progress on the site civil construction for two solar farms in Frederick, MD. Both of these crews are doing a fantastic job on the multiple tasks that includes erosion and sediment control installation, mass excavation of soil/rock, sediment ponds, gabion baskets, pipe installation, stone roadways, etc. Thanks to these crews for their hard work and dedication. Keep the dirt moving and stay safe! 🙂

This Merlo team completed two concrete pours for the week totaling over 230 cubic yards of concrete. These concrete mud mats will provide a solid working surface for upcoming micropile drilling, rebar installation, and concrete foundations for new wind turbine generators. Merlo is excited to be a part of this 114 MW Wind Energy Project that repurposes former coal mine property. Nice work team! 👏

  • Our Merlo team in Garrett County Maryland did an incredible job on Monday and Tuesday assembling and setting these 95' trusses for the Colonial Style Vehicular Truss Bridge over Snowy Creek in Crellin, Maryland. This process involved unloading the truss sections horizontally, then standing them up and bracing the sections vertically. The truss sections were then spliced together and re-rigged before they could be flown onto the abutments. The crew then installed the 30' floor beams and 14' stringer beams to complete the structure. Excellent job working both safely and efficiently on this project! 🙂

  • The Merlo team is making some progress in Garrett County Maryland. They set these three 47' steel I-beam girders for this phase of construction on the Friendsville Road bridge over Buffalo Run. The crew did a fantastic job getting these in place safely and efficiently installing the intermediate diaphragms, utility conduit, deck pans, and overhang brackets. Stay tuned for deck rebar and a concrete deck pour! Nice work guys! 👍
