Congratulations to Captain Jeff Bright! Last night, Captain Jeff Bright was honored with the prestigious Charlotte Fire Officer of the Year award, recognizing his nearly 30 years of service, leadership, and commitment to the Charlotte community. His calm leadership, expertise in rescue operations, and dedication to mentoring the next generation of firefighters have made a lasting impact on Charlotte Fire and beyond. A Heroic Stand: The Courage of Engine 15.  Last night, we proudly recognized all four members of Charlotte Fire’s Engine 15 with the Medal of Valor for their extraordinary courage during the April 29, 2024, active shooter incident. Captain Nathan Jones, Engineer Justin Barringer, Firefighter William Costello, and Firefighter Jonathan Moore risked their lives to save others, embodying the true spirit of bravery and selflessness. A huge thank you to Fire Department Coffee for their generous donation of $6,202.67! This incredible contribution will go directly to benefit the programs of the Charlotte Regional Fire Foundation, helping firefighters, their families, and our community in times of need. Throughout September, a portion of every coffee bag and T-shirt sold went toward this amazing cause, showing that a simple purchase can make a big impact. This donation will help provide financial relief for medical bills, support mental health programs, and assist those facing unexpected challenges.
