Providing leadership for global thinking

About us

Founded in 1983, the World Affairs Council of Charlotte is one of 96 World Affairs Councils and affiliates across the country whose mission focuses on improving international education and encouraging citizens to participate in the national discussion on world affairs. The Council is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-partisan organization supported by funding from individual and corporate membership dues, foundations and contributions. By serving as a regional center for education and discussion of world affairs, the WACC seeks to provide leadership for global thinking, believing that a broad perspective is necessary for effective competition in the global economy and for responsible citizenship in an increasingly interdependent world.
