We were delighted to have Nebraska Senator, Deb Fischer visit CHI Health Good Samaritan this week! Senator Fischer toured the Emergency Department, Hybrid Cath Lab, and ICU. Our administration talked with her about the importance of being a Regional Referral Center for central and western Nebraska including our Level II Trauma Center, Level II NICU, AirCare air ambulance, hospital-based EMS 911 service, and the important role they play in keeping patients close to home. #CHIHealth #Hellohumankindness #CommonSpiritHeatlh #HealthCare

It’s not every day we get a happy ending from a tragic situation, but Grady is the exception! Last week, our CHI Health Good Samaritan AirCare crew was blessed with a visit from Grady and his family and in return we were able to take him on his first helicopter ride. Grady was originally supposed to take his first helicopter ride in March after an accident, but due to storms throughout the state, our crew was unable to fly him. With help from Priority Medical Transport, we were able to get him to Good Samaritan for further evaluation, but it was decided he needed to go to Omaha for specialized care. There was no ambulance crew available at the time to take him, so our flight crew, Molly and Sarah, along with EMS Mike, offered to take him during the last few minutes of their shift. Knowing time was of the essence, this crew did not hesitate and they are forever thankful that they didn’t. 💙 We are so happy we were able to watch Grady and his remarkable recovery and we’re blessed to have been able to transport him! #CHIHealth #Hellohumankindness #CommonSpiritHealth #HealthCare #EmployeeRecognition
