Suntory Global Spirits for our 4th annual Juneteenth Art Showcase! This event, featured eleven talented local artists, which is a testament to our commitment to celebrating Juneteenth through the power of art every year. Each artist created a unique piece inspired by the spirit of Juneteenth, and guests had the opportunity to bid on those works of art, with all proceeds supporting our ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ initiative.
This event not only showcases the incredible talent within our city but also reinforces our dedication to fostering community resilience and driving social change.
We are deeply grateful to our partners and supporters for making this event possible. Together, we are paying it forward, inspiring positive change, and building a more equitable and sustainable Chicagoland community!

#FindYourRythm this summer at Chicago Public Library! CPL is happy to announce the launch of its summer season which will focus on music.
Programming across the 81 branches will include events, workshops, performances, film and documentary screenings, and special programming from partner institutions such as Old Town School of Folk Music and the Jazz Institute of Chicago.
Today, CPL and City of Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson are hosting a first-ever Summer at CPL Block Party at the Library at noon with live music from DJ Ije, a thirteen-year-old disc jockey, performances by local artists from Young Chicago Authors, and CPL’s Own Rapbrarian (rapper and librarian) Roy Kinsey.
A resource fair portion of the event will include The Mayor’s Office of Community Safety (MOCS), My CHI. My Future., SOMETHING GOOD IN ENGLEWOOD, Teen & Youth Services at CPL, the Democratic National Convention Host Committee, the Art Institute of Chicago, and ChiGivesBack, Inc.
The event has been graciously sponsored by Succezz sneaker store, Me & My Bears, PepsiCo, and the generous donors to the Chicago Public Library Foundation.
