Meet Rebecca Ramsey, PA-C, a recent addition to the Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine program at #CHKD. Rebecca gained a love for medicine when she was young, but having children prompted her to become a provider. She experienced multiple modalities while attending Eastern Virginia Medical School, but her passion always remained in orthopedics. Her clinical interests include scoliosis, pediatric fracture care, spine pathology, and sports injuries. Rebecca's children have always had wonderful experiences with CHKD, and she joined our team to provide the same care to other families. Before becoming a certified family nurse practitioner, Audrey worked for several years as a registered nurse in CHKD’s nephrology clinic and infusion center. Growing up in New Haven, Kentucky, Audrey developed a love for science and helping people reach their full potential, which fueled her passion for healthcare and nursing. By utilizing play and preparing patients for what they should expect leading up to their surgery, I help them feel more at ease during a stressful time. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬? A favorite activity of mine is using medical play with patients. It allows children to interact with medical equipment in a safe way, which helps them feel more in control and less fearful. Rob’s compassion and unwavering commitment to his patients and families have been an inspiration to many for the past 12 years. Whether he is providing expert care or offering emotional support, Rob truly embodies the heart of CHKD’s mission. “I really love what I do, but the truth is, I feel more like a Robin than a Batman.
