Christopher Community celebrated its employees this past week at Arrowhead Lodge/Oneida Shores for their annual summer picnic. President and CEO Justin Rudgick welcomed over 135 staff members for a great day of fun, food, and laughs at the day-long event. Congrats to years of service award winners Jacklyn Cope and Summer DeCaprio (5 years), Patricia Leone (10 years), Daniel Marsh and Shelly Bengston (15 years), Dennis Bell (20 years), Jay McGurrin (25 years), and Timothy Morris (35 years) who were recognized for their commitment to CCI at the celebration. Dinosaur BBQ, Sunshine Ice Cream, awesome raffles, giveaways, awards, games, and a competitive 24-team cornhole tourney highlighted the day! Congrats to Daniel Marsh and David Galavotti on their back-to-back (2023 and 2024) cornhole tourney championships! Two very successful and informative Health and Wellness Fairs were held at our St. Jude I and II properties in Rochester this month. Twelve different agencies were on site sharing the services they offer with the residents. Residents enjoyed talking to the different vendors and getting valuable information and some "swag" from each agency. Props to all the residents who came down and supported these two events! Great job CCI Service Coordinator Ellen Apetz who organized the event, and thanks to all staffers and residents that participated! #christophercommunity

Giving a special shout out to a former employee, Arteika Hunter. She was an employee for Christopher Community for 3 years. She left the organization to start her own cleaning & janitorial business. It is hard when good employees leave, but for Arteika I am really proud of the success that she has had in short time with creating her business - Clean & Glo Services (www.cleanglocleaning.com). Her business is NYS MWBE certified! Keep up the good work! As leaders, we need to provide the oportunities to allow employees grow personally and professionally, and sometimes it means supporting them as they leave to pursue their dreams.

Community View Apartments, which will open in late fall 2024, will provide a total of 61 one-bedroom units of safe, affordable, energy-efficient homes in a newly constructed building. Rents will be affordable from 30%-60% AMI. All units are restricted to individuals aged 55 and older. There are 20 units set-aside for frail elderly via referral system. There are 10 fully accessible units for those with mobility impairments and 4 units setup for those with Hearing and/or Vision disabilities. #christophercommunity #morrisvilleny
