  • Shining the SPOTLIGHT on one of our best & brightest at CAA; Mrs. D, who is the Grantee Health Coordinator for Head Start at The Community Action Agency. Mrs. D embodies the Mission, Vision, and Values of CAA by serving with passion & compassion, head and heart. Having been a part of the Head Start program for over 15 years, Mrs. D who is also an associate of CAA, shared that she lives out the mission, vision and values of CAA by working hard behind the scenes with a team of awesome individuals. Her work is driven by procedure and policies, but her position gives her the opportunity to work in all areas of Head Start and in the community. Determining children’s health status is one of the areas where she is able to work with the CAA intake team, family service workers, home school educators and families by assisting them with resources for many things like insurance and ongoing quality healthcare. “I like working at CAA because I like the people here. My coworkers like working here and we have fun. When I am happy, I do a good job and everyone here has been so supportive and willing to always jump in and help when I need it. I chose to work at CAA because they are a pillar in the community that has been around for years. They believe in what they do, they value the work they do, and I believe in the work we do and know that I can be a great asset and support the mission.”, shared Mrs. D. “I also believe that the people who work here are so passionate about what they do because they can empathize with the clients, we serve every day. What I LOVE about CAA is working with the children. The children and their energy and joy they bring when they see you, they just love the teachers, will hug you and many times if you are having a bad day, they will just lift you up in a way you wouldn’t imagine. I don’t think I could do this work for any other place if it didn’t have children.” Mrs. D., we see you, we value you, and thank you for your hard work and dedication to being a part of the CAA family!

  • Shining the SPOTLIGHT on one of our best & brightest at CAA; Mrs. D, who is a Head Start infant & toddler teacher at The Community Action Agency. Mrs. D embodies the Mission, Vision and Values of CAA by serving with passion & compassion, head and heart. As a 32 year associate of CAA, Mrs. D. shared the following: " I love being a part of a genuine work family & reaching my children’s parents. Head Start is a beautiful comprehensive program! I chose CAA back in 1992 because of an advertisement I saw and I wanted to be a family advocate. I was so interested in what CAA had to offer. Now CAA’s mission, vision and values are in my heart and I live them out everyday and love being here to help with the growth and development of children. Families should consider choosing CAA because we’re the best in my opinion. CAA is so helpful in the community and I love what I do. Children are good for you, I love the children and its important for me to let the families know how important it is for them to get an early Head Start! Mrs. D., we see you, we value you, and thank you for your hard work and dedication to being a part of the CAA family!
