We would like to extend our congratulations to City of Centennial Government. They recently recognized with the Distinguished budget Presentation Award for the 2024 budget by the GFOA of the US & Canada. The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award is a significant achievement as it reflects the City’s commitment to meet the highest principles in governmental budgeting. To receive this award, the City had to demonstrate how well the budget document serves as a policy document, financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device. The City rated “proficient” in all four of these nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. “Receiving this recognition demonstrates Centennial’s commitment to financial transparency and sound financial policies. Fiscal sustainability is a strategic goal for Centennial and City Staff takes its fiduciary responsibilities very seriously,” says City Manager Matt Sturgeon. “The City is fortunate to have such a professional and motivated Staff managing the City’s finances and budget.” https://lnkd.in/drh3xQm

Staff have been working hard the last few days during Maintenance Week at Goodson Recreation Center in City of Centennial! 🛠️🧼 Big changes are underway in the cardio/weight room, which will have new flooring, a new floorplan, and new equipment by the time it reopens Sept. 12. All sidewalks, floors and stairs have all been power washed or scrubbed by hand. The pool was deep cleaned and refilled yesterday, all weights and equipment have been cleaned, display shelves in the lobby are restocked and our Preschool classrooms have been rearranged and reorganized. We look forward to welcoming everyone back inside tomorrow! Shoutout to our employees at Lone Tree, Buck, and Goodson rec centers for their efforts to deep clean and upgrade our facilities this month. While they get a week away from their regular job duties, these weeklong closures require a lot of physical labor, planning and teamwork from our people and we couldn't do it without them!
