Do you want a say in how the city develops its housing code? Proposed changes to the city’s Unified Land Use Code (ULUC) are now available to comment on through October 25. The changes are based on feedback from the city’s Neighborhood Housing Opportunities survey conducted earlier this year. The primary focus is on reducing barriers and allowing for more opportunity for “missing-middle” housing types, such as duplexes, multiplexes, and accessory dwelling units. Littleton’s Public Works team has begun installing several pilot projects to improve bicyclist and pedestrian safety along Elati Street and Euclid Avenue, part of the Safer Streets Littleton initiative. The projects focus on Elati Street between Peakview Avenue and Briarwood Avenue, and Euclid Avenue from Elati Street to the High Line Canal. Improvements include: -Additional temporary curbs at traffic circles -Crossing improvements -Curb extensions -In-street crossing signage -Parking pushed back from intersections/crossings -Center refuge islands Later this year, the Public Works team will begin the Elati Street Corridor Study, with plans to examine Elati Street from Powers Avenue to the High Line Canal. The study will identify improvements at major intersections such as Littleton Boulevard, and quick-build opportunities for immediate implementation. Longer term, the Public Works team is planning a larger-scale project to install safety infrastructure along Euclid Avenue, tentatively planned for summer 2025.
